Coteccons – Unicons will continue to hold its leading position in the construction industry
In particular, Coteccons – Unicons is also expanding into the energy sector, acting as an EPC contractor, performing all work from engineering design, procurement to construction for renewable energy projects in line with market trends.

Coteccons and Unicons have signed contracts worth nearly VND 4,000 billion.

In 2019, Unicons Construction Investment Co., Ltd. continued to be honored in the TOP 500 Largest Enterprises in Vietnam and the TOP 50 Outstanding Vietnamese Enterprises.
VNR500 – The ranking of the Top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam is assessed and announced by Vietnam Report and Vietnamnet Newspaper based on the criteria of the enterprise’s actual revenue in the most recent year, the actual and potential revenue growth in previous years. Last year, the Vietnamese construction industry experienced many fluctuations, but with a team of knowledgeable and well-thinking staff with a “passion for the profession”, passion and tireless efforts, Unicons has maintained its position and reputation in the market.
2018
Laying the foundation for future growth
In 2018, under the strong leadership of the Board of Directors and the efforts of the entire staff, Unicons achieved many of its set targets for revenue, profit and debt collection. Project management goals in terms of quality, progress, customer relations, and talent succession training were also focused on and well completed, laying the foundation for future growth.
2017
Unicons has won many FDI projects from foreign investors.
In 2017, Unicons successfully completed many of its financial goals for the year, such as achieving high revenue growth (including M&E Block revenue exceeding 30% of the plan), meeting profit targets and recovering debts well.
2017 was also a successful year for Unicons in terms of brand affirmation when it continued to maintain its reputation with many traditional customers (VinGroup, SunGroup, Dai Quang Minh, Techcombank…), expanding its relationship with many new customers (Hado Group, Cityland…). In particular, Unicons has won many FDI projects from foreign investors (Accredo, Tetra Pak…) and approached many new projects with a scale of over 1,000 billion.
2016
Unicons officially changed its operating model from a Joint Stock Company to a Limited Liability Company
In May 2016, Unicons officially changed its operating model from a joint-stock company to a limited liability company with a new name, Unicons Construction Investment Co., Ltd. The logo and brand identity system were also improved on this occasion to better suit the new situation. With this important milestone, Unicons officially “returned home” to Coteccons. All management, personnel and remuneration policies are fully compatible and increasingly approaching the professionalism of Coteccons.
The image of tower cranes with the Coteccons – Unicons logo is becoming increasingly familiar in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. Most of the prestigious real estate projects of large corporations such as VinGroup, TNR, Tan Hoang Minh, Dai Quang Minh … have been entrusted to Coteccons Group as the general contractor.
With the trust of a series of large investors, it can be said that Coteccons “has a lot of work to do” and the overall business results of the Group have grown rapidly in the years 2014 – 2016 when the design and construction general contracting projects came in droves, bringing both reputation and strong cash flow.
2015
Unicons participates in many high-rise building projects with Coteccons Group
In 2015, Unicons participated in many high-rise building projects with Coteccons, targeting the high-end commercial high-rise segment of leading real estate enterprises such as Vingroup, Dai Quang Minh, and TNR Holdings. In addition, Unicons has begun to affirm its position with a series of first general contracting projects exceeding VND 1,000 billion.
The year 2015 marked an important event in Unicons’ history when its parent company Coteccons announced a resolution of the Board of Directors on registering the issuance of shares to exchange for Unicons’ shares. Accordingly, Coteccons issued more than 3.6 million exchange shares to Unicons’ shareholders in exchange for all outstanding shares of Unicons except for the shares that Coteccons was holding with an exchange ratio of 1:0.745. This share exchange was approved by the 2015 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. After the successful exchange, Coteccons officially became the sole owner with 100% charter capital of Unicons.
2014
Breakthrough Growth in All Aspects
The year 2014 marked a breakthrough growth for Unicons in all aspects. By being entrusted by Coteccons to construct the T1 Masteri Thao Dien tower, the largest EPC general contracting project of Coteccons at that time, Unicons once again affirmed its capability and reputation. Masteri Thao Dien to date remains as a “triple record” project of Coteccons with a total investment of VND 4,400 billion in 2014: The project with the fastest progress (30 months from survey, design to completion and handover), the high-rise project with the largest floor area (43 floors with over 370,000m2 of floor area) and the project with the largest value up to 2014 (over VND 3,000 billion).
In the industrial factory segment, Unicons began to win a number of consecutive industrial projects in various stages from Chinese investors such as: Huafu (Long An), Gain Lucky (Tay Ninh), Texhong (Quang Ninh)…
This was also the year that marked the beginning of a series of Design and Build projects for Coteccons Group. With its superior technology, financial management and human resources, Coteccons has affirmed its No. 1 position in the “expensive” game – both designing and constructing large-scale projects. In the world, only leading construction corporations with excellent technology and management level can undertake this task.
2013
Leaping into the 186th position in the Top 500 Largest Private Enterprises in Vietnam
In 2013, the Unicons brand continued to be consolidated in the market with outstanding revenue of VND 2,276 billion and profit of over VND 57 billion. With this achievement, the company jumped to 186th place in the Top 500 largest private enterprises in Vietnam in 2013.
Nearly 20 construction and installation projects were successfully implemented by Unicons, including a special expansion into the Lao market (Mascot project) and the Cambodian market (Laurelton factory project). After 8 years of operation, Unicons has affirmed its brand in the Vietnamese market and has made the first steps to enter the Southeast Asian market. In this year, Coteccons also increased its shareholding in Unicons to 51%.
Many high-quality high-rise projects were implemented by Unicons in 2012-2013 such as: VivoCity (constructed with Coteccons), S8-S16, C15B Star Hill, Novotel Hotel, Ecopark Apartment, Nhan Phu Apartment… Projects with increasing number of floors and increasingly complex construction requirements laid the foundation for Unicons’ breakthrough in 2014 with larger projects.
2012
Significant strides in high-end industrial factory construction capabilities
The year 2012 marked significant strides for Unicons in its high-end industrial factory construction capabilities. Following the success of the GE project in 2009, Unicons continued to win contracts for several large-scale factories, including three consecutive projects for PepsiCo Vietnam in Bac Ninh and Dong Nai, the Coca-Cola factory expansion project in Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City, Marigot jewelry factory, TBC – Ball factory, Texhong Quang Ninh, Vinasoy Bac Ninh factory… Notable high-rise projects in 2012 include: T18 Times City apartment building, Ecopark Rung Co, Hoa Sen University, C15B Phu My Hung apartment complex, Vincom Center A,…
A remarkable milestone of 2012 was Unicons’ debut on the list of Vietnam’s Top 500 largest enterprises, ranking 410th and 7th among the largest private construction companies in Vietnam.
2011
Unicons signed a contract to construct PepsiCo Q512 Factory
In 2011, Unicons signed a contract to construct the PepsiCo Q512 factory in Bac Ninh with a total value of 442 billion VND, occupying the position of the industrial factory with the largest contract value of Unicons at that time. This is also the starting point for the next projects deployed in Dong Nai such as: PepsiCo Q413 and Q314.
Hotel and tourist resort projects also stood out this year and contributed a lot to company sales such as: Novotel Da Nang Hotel, Intercontinental Sun Peninsula Resort, Ba Na French Village…
2010
Unicons relocates Headquarters
In 2010, Unicons was awarded several prestigious hotel and resort projects in Central Vietnam, including the Fusion Maia Resort, Hoang Tra Resort Hotel, Ocean View Condominiums, and The Sun Villas.
The construction and finishing techniques required for hotels and resorts are always more demanding, and Unicons engineers had to work much harder to meet the expectations of the investors. These projects can be seen as the initial “training” for the completion of more difficult projects in the future.
In December 2010, Unicons relocated its headquarters from 9-19 Ho Tung Mau Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City to Coteccons Building 236/6 Dien Bien Phu Street, Ward 17, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. The new, more modern and spacious office has elevated the company’s image to a new level and facilitated interaction with partners and project development.
2009
Established the M&E department and achieved many strong advances in both high-end industrial and high-rise building segments.
The year 2009 marked the establishment of the M&E department by Unicons and achieved many strong strides in both high-end industrial and high-rise building segments.
This period marked the construction of complex basements by Unicons at the Golden Square project (Da Nang) and the GE engine factory (Hai Phong). The complexity and difficulty of the construction of these two projects, on the one hand, puts great pressure on quality and progress for the Unicons team, but is also a valuable opportunity for each engineer to “test the fire”. and mature faster.
Memorable projects during this period include the chain of three Sabeco Breweries in Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ngai and Nghe An with each project reaching 180 – 300 billion VND – a very large contract value at that time. There are also projects like UNIS International School and Uni-President Factory.
2008
Rapid yet sustainable growth
Despite starting with a modest charter capital of only VND 18 billion, within three years, the company had assembled over 100 engineers and architects, including more than 20 M&E engineers and 20 management staff. The company experienced rapid yet sustainable growth during this period, with revenue reaching VND 45 billion (2006), VND 309 billion (2007), and VND 534 billion (2008). The Unicons – Coteccons Group brand began to make a strong impression on the market and establish a solid reputation among investors.
The establishment of the M&E department in the first three years enabled Unicons to expand its scope of work to include turnkey construction and M&E contracts, aiming to provide added value to clients and consultants by having a single point of contact for project management throughout the construction and warranty periods.
2007
Unicons built a close partnership with Coteccons in Hotel and Resort projects
Guided by the unwavering business philosophy of “Each project must be better than the previous one,” Unicons has consistently delivered safe, high-quality products and services that meet deadlines, adhere to reasonable pricing, and most importantly, exceed customer expectations.
The period from 2006 to 2008 witnessed a close collaboration between Unicons and Coteccons in hotel and resort projects in Da Nang, Central Vietnam provinces, and Phu My Hung urban area (Ho Chi Minh City).
2006
Unicons was officially established
On July 14, 2006, Unicons received business registration certificate No. 4103005020 for Uy Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company with charter capital of 18 billion VND. On July 21, 2006, the General Meeting of Shareholders to establish Uy Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (Unicons) was held. Unicons was officially born with the strategic goal of expanding the market and diversifying production and business activities of Coteccons Group.
The company is headquartered at Floor 8, No. 19 Ho Tung Mau, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City in a small, narrow office full of love and solidarity. Having just been formed for a very short time, in 2008 – 2009, the world economic crisis occurred, foreign investment sources in Vietnam decreased sharply and domestic construction enterprises were almost in crisis with no jobs. do. But with the intelligence, consensus, and determination of the leaders, Unicons and its staff gradually overcame it and achieved the results they have today.
