Tetra Pak is a Sweden group with 65 years of experience in providing world’s cutting-edge liquid processing and packaging solutions. Tetra Pak Binh Duong Factory is backed by an investment fund of 120 million Euros, construction area of 36,000m2 within a 100,000m2 campus. This is the 8th factory of Tetra Pak in the Asia-Pacific. The Binh Duong factory is considered the “greenest” in Tetra Pak’s system, as it applies various environmental friendliness standards such as energy consumption monitoring and CO2 emission reduction systems.
Unicons took the role of General Contractor to construct, structure and complete the entire factory. After more than 10 months of construction, Unicons Steering Board successfully handed over the project to the Owner in early 2019, satisfying all safety, quality and progress standards. Tetra Pak Binh Duong Factory is one of the first in Vietnam to adopt the strictest environmental standards in pursuit of the globally-accredited LEED Version 4 Gold certification. By applying many advanced environmental measures such as energy control and water recycling, the factory can reduce the energy consumption of equipment by up to 36% and reuse more than 21 million liters of water every year.
Sweden was the first European country to open a handshake diplomacy to Vietnam and now quite a few Swedish enterprises are thriving in this country. Tetra Pak’s launching the factory has represented a commitment of Sweden’s long-lasting investment in Vietnam, said Mr. Pereric Högberg – Ambassador of Sweden in Vietnam – at the factory inauguration.
Mr. Jeffrey Fielkow – Tetra Pak Vietnam’s CEO affirmed that Tetra Pak Binh Duong factory would help cementing the relation between the company and Vietnamese market and customers, at the same time bolster the company’s confidence in its role as an contributor to the industry’s future. He also delivered thanks to the engineers and staffs of the General Contractor Unicons for their utmost dedication to the completion of project in compliance with committed schedule, quality and labor safety.
For years Tetra Pak has supplied billions of packages to major domestic food producers like Vinamilk, Vinasoy, Nestle, Coca Cola, Moc Chau, TH, to name but a few. The new factory of Tetra Pak will further stabilize the source and speed up the supply of safe food packaging to manufacturers, thereby improving efficiency and productivity. As a foward-looking structure, Tetra Pak Binh Duong factory is designed with a scalability that allows 20 billion paper boxes to be produced per year. Tetra Pak’s launch of the factory in Vietnam also makes a milestone for celebration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – Sweden diplomatic relation.
Affirming its position as the most prestigious General Contractor in Vietnam’s industrial construction, Unicons has handed over a variety of large-scale factories around the country and satisfied the Owners. The success construction of Tetra Pak Binh Duong Factory and experiences in many other large FDI projects such as Accredo Asia, GE, Marigot, etc. will strengthen Unicons’s confidence to embark in larger and more complex projects in the coming time.
