The congress was attended by the Deputy Head of the Organization Department of the Municipal Federation of Labor, Nguyen Chuc Mung, NA Deputy cum Vice Secretary of Binh Thanh District Party Executive Committee, Lam Dinh Thang, Member of the Standing Committee cum Head of Mass Mobilization, Le Thi Bich Khanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Federation of Labor cum Chairman of Binh Thanh District Federation of Labor, Cao Hong Ha. Coteccons was represented by the management and nearly 200 trade union members representing its 1,800 employees.

The congress was held to summarize and evaluate trade union activities in the 2012 – 2017 tenure. Over the past tenure, besides the task of taking care of Coteccons’ employees’ lives and well-being, Coteccons Trade Union had great achievements in multiple aspects. The entire staff enthusiastically engaged in emulation campaigns launched by the city’s and district’s Trade Unions. The efforts and coordination among the Party, government and unions were enhanced for a higher level of strength and solidarity across the company. The great achievements made by Coteccons Trade Union members have contributed to the company’s comprehensive development, reaffirming the Trade Union’s role among the workers.
After reviewing the Trade Union’s activities in the 2012 – 2017 tenure, the Trade Union Executive Committee outlined the objectives, duties, and orientations for the 2017 – 2022 tenure with a view to actively taking care of all employee’s lives and well-being including those of Trade Union Members, grasping the staff’s needs to improve their living quality; working with the government and other sociopolitical organizations to build up staff that are strong in professions and political viewpoints, responsible at work to meet the increasingly high demands of modern society, proactively taking part in social activities and advising the party committee in properly implementing the trade union work in the time to come.
Addressing the congress, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Federation of Labor cum Chairman of Binh Thanh District Federation of Labor, Cao Hong Ha, appreciated Coteccons’ Management effort so that Coteccons Trade Union Congress was chosen as an exemplary model for reference. Besides, Ha also expressed his consent to the report, taking notes of the proposal and praising Coteccons’ Trade Union’s achievements in the last term.

On behalf of Coteccons’ staff, Board Chair Nguyen Ba Duong thanked all distinguished guests attending the congress. He also highlighted the Trade Union’s role in Coteccons’ growth, confirming the management’s intensive care for its staff via Trade Union. “With “employee first” mindset, we worked with the Trade Union right at the beginning to do what is best for staff’s interests. Besides, the management is side by side with the Trade Union in social campaigns, charitable missions and fundraising for the revolutionaries so that all activities are carried out fast-and-full”.

In a serious and fast-paced working session, the congress elected a new Executive Committee comprising of 5 members and nominated 2 delegates to attend the Trade Union Congress of Binh Thanh District in Q IV 2017.
